Peter A. Maniscalco, CPA, MBA
The firm’s founder has been a practicing Certified Public Accountant for over 40 years. Peter is a graduate of the Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York. He received his BBA in accounting in 1976 and his MBA in taxation in 1981. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Peter has been affiliated with HD Vest since 2001 and has been recognized as one of the top 75 advisors since 2017. HD Vest is now known as Avantax Investment ServicesSM, Member FINRA, SIPC.
His experience prior to forming his initial firm in 1984 included:
• Staff member of a New York City theatrical accounting firm
• Senior staff member of an international grain merchandiser’s corporate tax division
• Assistant Manager of a major US Bank’s corporate tax department.
Since forming his initial firm in 1984, Peter has focused his career on servicing privately held businesses; individual, corporate and estate taxation and trusteeships.
Throughout his career he has been on the management teams of many Staten Island non-profit groups and has given his time to numerous charitable organizations:
He has served as Treasurer to both the Staten Island Knights of Columbus and the Great Kills Little League;
He is an active member of the Board of Trustees of Eger Lutheran Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services since 2002. As a result of his accounting experience he has led Eger through difficult financial times without affecting patient care;
He is a board member of Richmond County Country Club for the past ten years, currently serving as President;
He currently serves on the Parish Council of St. Clare’s Church and is a Member of the Finance Committee of Xavier High School in Manhattan.
He also serves on the Finance and Audit Committees of Xavier High School.
In 2018 Maniscalco & Picone was recognized by Lifestyles for the Disabled for being the first employer on Staten Island to hire physically challenged individuals. In addition, both Peter and his wife, Sarah, have been recognized by various organizations for their continued support to the Staten Island Community.
Peter has three children and five grandchildren. He knows firsthand what it takes to meet financial goals. He takes pride in helping you address yours.
